Product Design: A Counter Top Dishwasher

A cleaver new product, fit for small spaces, a dishwasher which saves water usage using an interesting technology called Ohmic Array Technology.

Using graphite electrodes and electronic controls, we increase the energy state of the water molecules, so they move faster. The faster they move, the more kinetic energy they have. This causes the molecules to begin to bounce off each other; that kinetic energy turns into heat. Through direct energy transfer, your water is heated instantly, within (+/-) 1 degree Fahrenheit of the temperature setpoint.

To a mentor and friend, I say so long and thank you for your generosity of time, wisdom and passion for design you shared so free with so many. I will hold on to the memories of your humor, gentle spoken but strong opinions and unfailing availability to mentor others who shared your interest in design.

IDSA Article: Charles Harrison

“I came from a family that taught me to see beyond circumstance, find value and create usefulness out of need. The legacy I inherited required that I make myself useful ' as a son, man, husband, father and artist. If I were to share one thought with the design community of today and tomorrow it would be to remember that your purpose ' your gift to the world ' is to provide straightforward solutions to real problems for living, breathing human beings."

Logo Design: Library of Congress

Article: The Library of Congress Rebrands...

"Acting as proverbial bookends to display and frame the LOC’s wide-ranging catalogue of more than 32 million holdings—which include not only books, but also films, photographs, audio recordings, manuscripts, maps, and fine art—the main “LIBRARY” wordmark is then variably spliced apart to sandwich a rotating set of images: a violin, a Dorothea Lange photo, a flower specimen, a still from film footage. The content is rich and variable, making the logo perform as a sort of curatorial platform and showcase of LOC’s diverse collections."
