Recently, I stumbled into a Brooks Brothers store almost by mistake, that is to say I do not remember what lead me through their doors, but I was impressed with the level of customer service and a reasonably fashionable choice of clothing.
This hallowed institution has gone one step further in partnering with Tom Browne, who was honoured as menswear designer of the year, to introduce a signature collection called "Black Fleece".

Architectual Trend: Tiny Homes
I love the idea of doing more with less. And, in environments like Washington DC, where land is scarce and existing structures some over a century old run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars, designing an efficienct dwelling is really appealing.
This trend has taken hold in others countries more than here, in the states, but I can see it happening here in greater numbers very shortly.

Typography: Assignment II - Results
The second assignment results are in and I am pleased with the products of my students. I can clearly see the students appling of many of the typographical design principles that have been presented in the course.
This assignment asked the students to develop a multi-page spread using a favorite song lyric as the content. The three panels including a cover and two facing pages were to support the intended message of the song, as well as hold together as a composition.
The cover panel was an extension of where the first assignment left off, using an 8"x8" formating which to place the song title and artist. The facing page spread allowed the students to gain practice in setting and compsing a long string of text.
The spread above was produced by student Tiffany Leech.
